Diet Coke Ads
I created an animated commercial for my favorite soft drink, Diet Coke. The goal was to build a fun, abstract animation that uses the bottle as the central focus. Drawing inspiration from Coke and Pepsi ads that place their products in imaginative worlds, I gave the Diet Coke bottle its own playful character. This project let me deepen my skills with the Octane render engine for realistic lighting and reflections. I modeled and animated the bottles in Cinema 4D, then handled compositing and final editing in After Effects.

Process
The plastic bottle was modeled from scratch to closely match its real-life counterpart. I researched the official Diet Coke brand guidelines to ensure the label featured the correct wordmark and colors.
For added realism, I modeled condensation droplets on the bottle’s surface. Several droplets animate, gently sliding down the side as the camera orbits. The motion invites viewers to imagine the crisp, refreshing taste inside.
The bottle moves with lively, energetic animations throughout. In the final moments, its shape transforms into the rising bubbles of the soda itself. Working in 3D gave me the freedom to turn an everyday object into something abstract and memorable.
Social Sizes
After creating the full length video, I adapted it into vertical (9x16) sizes to supplement the campaign on social media platforms (such as Instagram and Tik Tok). One version uses the core animation with additional transitions, while the other is static, with a focus on messaging.
